3 Days tour Marrakech to Fes via desert

Your Marrakech Fes desert tour begins at around 8:00 am with pickup from your accommodation in Marrakech. First, we leave the city and drive across the spectacular High Atlas Mountains. We cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and stop at scenic viewpoints to enjoy the mountain landscapes and traditional Berber villages.

Next, we continue towards Ait Ben Haddou. Here, we visit the famous fortified village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. The historic kasbah stands along the ancient caravan routes between the Sahara and Marrakech. In addition, Ait Ben Haddou has been used as a filming location for many international productions.

The final day of your Marrakech Fes desert tour begins early. First, you wake up to watch the sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. This peaceful moment is one of the highlights of the journey. After breakfast, you return by camel to Merzouga and continue towards Fes.

Next, we travel through the Ziz Valley and across the Middle Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we stop for tea with a nomadic family when possible. This experience gives you a closer look at traditional life in southeastern Morocco.

Afterwards, we reach Midelt, a mountain town known for its apple orchards. Here, we stop for lunch and take a short break. Then, we continue through the beautiful cedar forest near Azrou.

The forest is home to Barbary macaques. If conditions are suitable, you can see these monkeys in their natural environment and take beautiful photographs. Moreover, the cedar trees and mountain scenery create a completely different landscape from the Sahara.

Finally, we continue towards Ifrane, a charming mountain town known for its cool climate, alpine-style architecture, and Michlifen ski resort. From Ifrane, we continue towards Fes.
