5-Day Marrakech to Merzouga Sahara Desert & Oasis Tour

After breakfast, we leave Zagora and enter the remote desert landscapes. First, we follow the historic desert track towards Tafraoute Sidi Ali. This route is also associated with the old Paris-Dakar rally.

Along the way, the landscape changes dramatically. We cross the Hamada, a vast desert area covered with dark stones. Here, we have the opportunity to meet a nomadic family in their traditional tent.

Moreover, we share tea with the nomads and learn more about their traditional lifestyle. This is a unique opportunity to discover how people live in one of Morocco’s most remote regions.

Afterwards, we continue along the desert track towards Tafraoute Sidi Ali. The route offers wide-open landscapes and excellent opportunities for photography.

Finally, we arrive in the village. You spend the night with local people and enjoy a traditional dinner.

After breakfast, we continue our 5 day Marrakech Sahara journey towards Merzouga. The route crosses remote desert landscapes and passes through Ramlia and the surrounding dunes.

Next, we continue towards Taouz. Here, we stop to discover ancient rock carvings and take photographs of the desert scenery.

Then, we continue to Khamlia village. This village is famous for its Gnaoua music and cultural traditions. You enjoy local music and discover an important part of the cultural heritage of southeastern Morocco.

Afterwards, we continue towards Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi dunes. In the afternoon, you begin your camel ride across the golden Sahara. The camel trek takes you through the impressive dunes while the colours of the sand change with the sunlight.

Later, we stop to admire the sunset from the dunes. Finally, we continue to the desert camp.

In the evening, you enjoy a traditional Berber dinner and relax around the campfire. You spend the night in a Berber tent under the stars.

Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. This peaceful moment is one of the highlights of the 5 day Marrakech Sahara experience. After breakfast, you return to the foot of the dunes by camel.

Next, we leave Merzouga and continue towards Rissani. Here, we visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif, an important historical site in the Tafilalt region.

Afterwards, we continue towards Erfoud. The town is well known for fossils and traditional fossil workshops. We then travel towards the Todra Gorges via Touroug.

Along the way, we stop at the Todra palm grove to enjoy the views and take photographs. Then, we reach the impressive Todra Gorges. Here, you have time to walk through the canyon and enjoy lunch.

Finally, we continue through Tinghir towards Boumalne Dades. We stop at panoramic viewpoints overlooking the Dades Valley before reaching the Dades Gorges.

You enjoy dinner and spend the night in a local accommodation.

After breakfast, we follow the Dades Valley through traditional Berber villages and fields of roses. We continue towards Kalaat M’Gouna, known as the Valley of Roses.

Here, we visit a local cooperative where you can discover products made from roses. Afterwards, we continue through the Valley of Roses and travel towards the Skoura palm grove.

Next, we continue towards Ouarzazate. We stop near Taourirt Kasbah and the famous Atlas film studios for photographs. These locations reflect the important role of Ouarzazate in the Moroccan film industry.

Then, we continue to the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. Here, you enjoy a guided visit with a local guide and discover the history of this impressive fortified village.

After lunch, we begin the final part of the journey. We cross the High Atlas Mountains once again and enjoy the spectacular mountain scenery.

Finally, we arrive in Marrakech at the end of the day. We drop you off at your accommodation.
