Your Casablanca to Merzouga adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your accommodation in Casablanca. Travel north toward Rabat, the capital of Morocco, and explore some of its most important historic landmarks. Visit the impressive Hassan Tower and discover the historic Chellah, a fascinating archaeological site overlooking the Bou Regreg River. Take some time to enjoy the views and capture beautiful photographs before continuing toward Meknes.

Arrive in Meknes and discover the heritage of this former imperial city. Explore the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail and admire the historic architecture surrounding the old medina. After the visit, continue toward Fez, one of Morocco’s most important cultural and spiritual centers. Upon arrival, check into your riad and enjoy some time to relax after the journey. After breakfast, leave Fez and begin your journey toward the Sahara Desert. Cross the beautiful landscapes of the Middle Atlas Mountains and stop in Ifrane, a charming mountain town known for its distinctive architecture and green surroundings. Continue toward Azrou and the famous cedar forests, where you may have the opportunity to see Barbary macaques in their natural environment.

Continue toward Midelt, located between the Middle Atlas and Anti-Atlas regions, where you can stop for lunch. Afterward, travel through the spectacular Ziz Valley and enjoy panoramic views over the green palm groves and dramatic mountain landscapes. Continue through Errachidia and Erfoud, a town famous for its fossils and mineral craftsmanship. You can visit a local fossil workshop before continuing toward Merzouga.

In the afternoon, arrive at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Meet your camel guide and begin your camel trek across the golden Sahara sands. Enjoy the spectacular sunset from the dunes before reaching your desert camp. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, Berber music, and a peaceful night beneath the stars. Wake up early to enjoy the beautiful sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast, leave Merzouga and continue toward Rissani, an important historic town in the Tafilalt region. Explore the traditional souk and discover local products, spices, dates, crafts, and the authentic atmosphere of southern Morocco.

Continue toward Erfoud and then travel through the desert landscapes toward Touroug and Tinghir. Arrive at the impressive Todra Gorge, one of the most spectacular natural sites in southern Morocco. Walk through the narrow canyon surrounded by enormous limestone cliffs and enjoy the dramatic scenery.

After the visit, continue toward Boumalne Dades and enter the beautiful Dades Valley. Admire the red rock formations, traditional villages, palm groves, and historic kasbahs along the route. Stop at one of the scenic viewpoints to enjoy panoramic views of the valley before continuing to your accommodation. Enjoy a traditional dinner and a relaxing evening in the Dades Valley. After breakfast, continue your journey through the spectacular landscapes of southern Morocco. Travel through the Dades Valley and continue toward the Skoura Palm Grove, an oasis filled with palm trees, traditional kasbahs, and fertile gardens. Continue to Ouarzazate, often called the Gateway to the Sahara.

In Ouarzazate, stop to admire the historic Taourirt Kasbah and, depending on your schedule, visit the famous cinema studios. Continue toward Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most impressive fortified villages. This historic ksar is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is famous for its traditional earthen architecture. Explore its narrow streets, ancient buildings, and panoramic viewpoints with time for photographs.

After the visit, continue toward Marrakech. Cross the spectacular High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and enjoy breathtaking views of mountain valleys and traditional Berber villages. Arrive in Marrakech in the evening and check into your riad in or near the historic medina. Overnight in Marrakech.

After breakfast, enjoy some time discovering the highlights of Marrakech before continuing toward the Atlantic coast. Explore the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa Square and take a relaxing mint tea on one of the terraces overlooking the lively square. Continue through the historic medina and its colorful souks, where you can discover traditional Moroccan crafts, spices, textiles, leather goods, and souvenirs.

Later, leave Marrakech and travel toward Essaouira, a charming coastal city known for its historic medina, whitewashed buildings, artistic atmosphere, and Atlantic beaches. Upon arrival, explore the medina and walk through its peaceful streets before visiting the fishing port. Enjoy fresh seafood at a local restaurant near the harbor and take some time to relax beside the Atlantic Ocean.

In the afternoon, walk along the beach and enjoy the refreshing coastal atmosphere. Depending on availability and weather conditions, you can also enjoy an optional camel ride on the beach. In the evening, admire the sunset and experience the relaxed atmosphere of Essaouira. Overnight in a traditional riad.

After breakfast, enjoy some free time in Essaouira before beginning your return journey to Casablanca. Take a final walk through the medina, visit local artisan shops, or enjoy a coffee overlooking the Atlantic before departure.

Travel back toward Casablanca through the scenic landscapes of western Morocco. Along the way, you can admire argan tree landscapes and traditional villages.
